We beseech Thee, O Lord, give a healing effect to our fasts: that the chastisement of the flesh which we have taken upon us, may bring new life into our souls. Through our Lord.

It is good to give praise to the Lord, and to sing Thy name, O Most High. To show forth Thy mercy in the morning and Thy truth in the night.

Enlighten mine eyes that I never sleep in death: lest at any time mine enemy say: I have prevailed against him.
